The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a protocol used mainly to access data on the World Wide Web. The protocol transfer data in the form of plain text, hypertext, audio, video, and so on. However, it is called the Hypertext Transfer Protocol because its efficiency allows its use in a hypertext environment where there are rapid jumps from one document to another. HTTP functions like a combination of FTP and SMTP. It is similar to FTP because it transfers files and uses the services of TCP. However, it is much simpler than FTP because it uses only one TCP connection. There is no separate control connection; only data are transferred between the client and the server.

The network can use any set of address with registering with the internet authorities. Because the network is isolated, the addresses do not have to be unique. However, this strategy has a serious drawback is user might mistakenly confuse the address as part of the global internet. To overcome the problem associated with the first and second strategies, the internet authorities have reserved three sets of addresses. Any organization can use an address out of this set without permission from the internet authorities. Everybody knows that these reserved addresses are for private from the internetworks. They are unique inside the organization, but they are not unique globally. No router will forward a packet that has one of these addresses as the destination address.

Extranet is the same as the intranet with one of the major difference. Some resources may be accessed by specific group of user outside the organization under the control of the network administrator.A private network that uses the TCP/IP protocol suite must use IP addresses. Three choices are available:The network can apply for a set of addresses from the internet authorities and use them without being connected to the internet. This strategy has an advantage, if in the future the organization decides to be connected to the internet, it can do so with relative ease. However, there is also a disadvantage is the address space is wasted.

The idea of private networks- networks those are isolated from the internet but use the TCP/IP protocol suite. A private network is designed to be used inside organization. It allows access to share resources and, at the same time, provide privacy. The aspects of these networks are define commonly used related terms, intranet and extranet.Intranet is a private network (LANs) that uses the TCP/IP protocol suite. However, access to the network is limited only to the users inside the organization. The network uses application programs defined for the global internet, such as “hppt” and may have web servers, print servers, file servers, etc.

IMAP4-Another mail access protocol is internet mail access protocol, version 4. IMAP4 is similar to POP3, but it has more features, IMAP4 is more powerful and more complex.

IMAP4 provides the following extra functions:

A user can check the email header prior to downloading.

A user can create, delete, or remove mailboxes on the mail server.

A user can create a hierarchy of mailboxes in a folder for mail storage.

A user can download email. This is especially useful if bandwidth is limited and the email contains multimedia with high bandwidth requirements.

POP3- post office protocol, version 3 is simple, but it is limited in functionality. The client POP3 software is installed on the recipient computer, the server POP3 software is installed on the mail server. Mail access starts with the client when the user needs to download its email from the mailbox on the mail server. The client opens a connection with the server on TCP ports. It then sends its user name and password to access the mailbox. The user can then retrieve the mail message, one by one.POP3 has two modes: The delete mode and the keep mode. In the delete mode, the mail is deleted from the mailbox after retrieval. In the keep mode, the mail is remains in the mailbox after retrieval.

The first and second stages of mail delivery we use simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP). But in the third stage SMTP not involved because of push protocol. It pushes the message from the sender to the receiver even if the receiver does not want it. The operation of SMTP starts with the sender not receiver. On the other hand, the third stage needs a pull protocol. The operation must start with the recipient. The mail must stay in the mail server mailbox until the recipient retrieves it. The third stage uses a mail access protocol. Currently two mail access protocols are available: POP3 and IMAP4.

Every Organization uses the Information Technology in their business to perform all the roles directly or indirectly. Information Technology also has its own land mark in communication through mail, chat, phones, wireless networks, and satellite and through many infinite means. Printing is the first thing in information technology. Only printing made people literate by which education has improved from ten percent to eight percent. It has also provided raw materials for studying like books. Other harvest of information technology was the inventions like telegraphy, wireless; telephone, radio, television, broadcasting, computers and many are coming up. For the past years, computers and the sharing of data that facilitate has penetrated human life

As the world more and more moves in the direction of information culture, without computers we cannot even think about any development. Computer and its Literacy are essential in today’s life. Only those underscore the importance for creating a computer educated society. There had been out of this world invention in all field like information, storage and display devices and the electronic transport information on worldwide telecommunication networks, progressively more under the manage of the dispatcher and the recipient.

Nowadays Information also covers any voice in telephone, text in fax machines, and movement of images as in video and data which can be stored in computers, memory cards, and many means of storage products. The restriction for the broadcast and the welcome of data only from the device connected to the wires and consequently only from the respective positions, has been vividly overcome by our planet based cell phones, radio, televisions and now in satellites based global wide mobile system. The information technology also passes on to the invention, assembling, dealing out, storage and delivery of information and the process and products that makes all the imaginary things possibly. The 3 G facility that we have in our mobile is the best example. So we cannot even live without information technology and that to communication has groomed with the major help of information technology.
